How it works

Your phone first. Then everyone.

SeatSense™

SeatSense™

A thin cushion on the seat pad senses your baby the second they're in it. It doesn't guess from a door or a buckle. It knows.

Out of range

Out of range

Walk out of range with the seat still occupied and both alert at once. It keeps alerting until you're back at the car.

BabiRelay™

Sixty seconds without an answer and your relay gets the message and the location. Not a call to one person. All of them, at once.

Why minutes matter

A hot car is not a summer problem. It is a ten-minute problem.

A parked car gains about 11 °C in its first ten minutes and most of its heat within half an hour, on a mild day as much as a hot one. Cracking a window makes almost no difference.

A baby’s temperature climbs three to five times faster than yours, so there is no safe wait. That is why the Seat speaks up before you are far, and why your family hears it next.

About how long a parked car takes to gain 11 °C. A baby heats up three to five times faster than you do.

Why we exist

Ordinary parents. Ordinary mornings. That is why Babi Seat exists.

None of these figures are about bad parents. They are about routine, memory and a warm car. We built something that knows the seat is occupied, tells you, and then tells your people.

parents of children aged three and under say they have forgotten a child in the car.1

Buy Babi Seat

Parents, in their own words. It works.

“I bought the car seat because my baby brain has been difficult to live with post birth. It is really well made, stands out as a quality product.”

KimVerified customer

“I have been looking for something like this specifically just in case, especially after this summer and us having so much heat. It works really well, we have had a couple of false alarms to all the family but better safe than sorry.”

JuneVerified customer

“With all the access to new tech, it makes complete sense to invest money in safeguarding our newborn.”

TylerVerified customer

“I was surprised how low profile the seat is. Comfortable and minimalist, and does exactly what it says it does. I always keep the keyring on me because I am terrible for leaving my phone in the car and that worries me, good failsafe.”

“Better safe, never sorry.”

JoanVerified customer

“Whether I or my wife are out in the car with Skyler, we have a little bit of peace of mind just knowing that she is okay. The GPS thing is world class, honestly, that is the difference between this and the cheap clip things that you have to fit every time anyways.”

KaydenVerified customer

“Being a first time parent your whole way of life changes not just your routine, why would you not buy something like this, not like it breaks the bank for child safety.”

Questions Parents Ask

What if my phone is on silent?

The alert overrides silent mode, sounds, vibrates and lights the screen, and it keeps going until you are back in range. If you are not back within minutes, it goes to your relay with the car’s location.

That is what BabiRelay™ is for. If your phone is in a bag or on a desk, the alert does not stop there. If you are not back within minutes it shares the car’s location with the family you chose. Whoever is closest gets there.

Yes. The cushion stays in the seat, so it works whoever is driving. The alerts go to the phones on your relay wherever they are, so the driver does not have to be the person who answers.

Sometimes it will. Every sensor gives the odd false alert. A false alert means you check and everything is fine. We would rather that than the alternative, and we would rather say so here than have you find out in week two.

Babi Seat runs on a replaceable coin cell, the kind in a car key. There is nothing to charge. When it needs a new one, the app tells you.

It lies on the seat pad of a rear-facing or forward-facing child seat, about 25 cm across, with a cut-out around the crotch buckle. Always follow your car seat maker’s guidance on what may be placed in the seat.

Because a parked car gains about 11 °C in its first ten minutes, and a baby heats up three to five times faster than an adult. So there is no countdown. The moment you and your phone leave range with the seat occupied, your phone alerts, and it keeps alerting until you are back. If you are not back within minutes, BabiRelay™ tells your people where the car is.

SeatSense™ pairs to your phone and to the Babi Alert S key ring that comes in the box. Walk off with your keys and no phone, or with a flat phone, and the key ring sounds and flashes on its own, with no app involved. BabiRelay™ does need your phone with a connection to share the car’s location with your people.

No, and nothing does. Babi Seat makes sure someone knows the seat is still occupied, and then that someone comes. That is all it does, and we think that is the point.
